Special Selection November 08 El Chupacabra is the South American equivalent of Sasquatch. That's the simplest way to describe it. The name translates litterally to "The Goatsucker", based on his legend as being a creature that preys on farmer's livestock. His legend first emerged in Puerto Rico in 1995, after eight sheep were found dead, each with three puncture wounds in their chest and all the blood drained from their bodies. Since that date sightings of this, or similar creatures been logged in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, the United States, and Russia. Dozens of strange animal carcasses have been found that people believed to be Chupacabras, but all that have been examined have had more realistic explanations. But the most common events accredited to him are dead livestock with gaping holes and sucked dry of blood. Pretty creepy stuff. The legend of his appearance varies, but he usually has lizard like skin, a alienish head, with big fangs, long claws and usually walks up right. Believe in him or not, El Chupacabra is here to stay. See my favorite El Chupacabra video here. Pure genius.

I expect El Chupacabra to get a boost in the voting this month with CNN reporting that a real "goat sucker" has been killed and preserved in South Texas

Zombies are hands more awesome then everything this month by far... just think of George Romero and all the amazing movies he has created.. Where would we be today if it wasn't for the 1968 horror classic night of the living dead. Sure Wake N Bacon is a cool idea and tater tots are delicious but a good zombie movie is fun for the the whole family :)
reply
I'm forced to agree with you. WNB just seems like a house fire waiting to happen, and that is DEFINITELY not Awesome!
reply
But Fire is awesome. So maybe thats the alure. if you hit the snooze button too many times you wake up to the smell of all your worldy possesions(including you newly purchased wake an bacon) ablaze.
reply
I think Midnight Oil resolved this argument in their monograph "How Can We Sleep Whilst Our Beds Are Burning?"
reply
Good call, Olav. And besides as much as I love Bacon, the fear of dying in my bed outweighs my love.
And besides that, HOW CAN YOU VOTE AGAINST ZOMBIES?!?!
reply
Or, "How can we sleep while our pet are burning?"
