X-RAY VISION
Rank: Pepper Tiberius Rex
Nominated by Tiberius Rex

X-ray vision is the power to see through solid objects. Many comic books and movies have characters with this ability, the most famous is probably Superman.

X-Ray vision quite often doesn't involve X-Rays which would need to bounce of something and come back, instead it is usually just whatever the user decides he wants to see through just becomes transparent. Who wouldn't want to have X-Ray vision, its just plain awesome. You could see, like, through walls, through a lady's clothes.. or ... hmm... through walls... or even through a lady's clothes!

ISRAEL KAMAKAWIWO'OLE
Rank: Burr LONG LIVE THE ZIOX
Nominated by LONG LIVE THE ZIOX

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, aka IZ, was one of Hawaii's most famous musicians. His release of the album "Facing Future" received attention on the mainland and helped popularized the ukulele. IZ was a large man who played a really small instrument and no doubt is hanging out with some rainbows right about now.

Sadly IZ was not long for this world. At only the age of 38 he left us, falling to obesity related respiratory complications. At one point he weighed 769 lbs. But contrary to every prejudice we all have about obesity, anyone who followed his life instantly saw right through his mass—to see a beautiful, kind, loving, gentle man, who loved and cared about the world like none other. There is no doubt IZ was one of the world's most unique individuals, he was totally awesome, and he is sadly missed.

I recognize that Iz Kamakawiwo'ole is quite awesome, but I have a hard time voting for him because, as a tourist visiting Hawai'i I was subjected to his music in just about every restaurant and shop that every catered to visitors. Every time I hear his music now, I just think of shlocky Waikiki tourist traps. It's sad and certainly unfair, but it takes away from his awesomeness to me. reply high five

I feel you. But think about how IZ's influence on Hawai'i has inspired store owners of Oahu to only play his music. reply high five2
