![]() ![]() CHE GUEVARA
Che Guevara has become a symbol of counter culture. He went from doctor to diplomat with his revolutionary stand against fascism. Che's guerrilla tactics may seem controversial to some and to others heroic. Che truly dedicated his life to fight for social justice. Jean-Paul Sartre called Che Guevara "the most complete human being of our age"

Some say he never blinks, and that he roams around the woods at night foraging for wolves... All we know is he's called The Stig. The Stig is a character on the BBC show "Top Gear", who has never spoken or removed his helmet on camera. Primarily his function on the show is running timed laps around the test track, as well as training celebrities to run laps. He has been tapped for a series of other driving duties as well, such as driving a Jaguar off an aircraft carrier. There has been much speculation as to exactly who is beneath the Stig's white racing suit. The official BBC response has long been, "We never comment on speculation as to whom or what the Stig is." But they have since identified him as racing driver Graham Hill (who is deceased), second as troubled Bank of Scotland CEO Tom McKillop and later on as Barack Obama.

Notes
The Stig is the name given to the anonymous racing driver on the BBC show Top Gear. In the show he is cast as a mysterious "tame racing driver"[1] whose identity is unknown, and who never speaks or removes his helmet on camera. Nonetheless he is fully credited as a presenter, albeit as "The Stig", alongside Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
The Stig's primary functions on the show are to post lap times in various cars around the Top Gear Test Track in Dunsfold Park, and to train each week's guest in setting a lap time in the Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car feature on the show. In addition the Stig carries out other driving duties when the need arises.

I think you have all, on both sides, missed what is so awesome about Che Guevera.. his face is tattooed on Mike Tyson's belly:
reply
I can't find any evidence that anyone has ever tattoo'd Teddy Roosevelt's image on their bodies. Teddy Bear tattoos are everywhere, but I don't think they are very awesome.
reply
Boy that opens a whole 'NOTHER can of worms!
reply
That makes Che less awesome.
reply
Seriously. That picture makes me want to vote for Peekaru. *PEEKARU!*
reply
Totally. The controversy and confusion over Che this month is fitting when you throw Mike Tyson's tattoos in the mix. That lovely number he did on his face was so meaningful to him that he started extolling the inspiration he got from the Aztec people. Of course the face tattoo is a Maori design, not Aztec. You have to love a guy who will get a tattoo on his face, and not be able to guess within 7,000 miles of the people who created it. Makes you wonder who convinced him the Che tattoo was a good idea. Does Tyson strike you as a communist?
reply
At least he didn't get Che's face tattooed on his FACE. That would be awkward.
reply
He strikes me as a champ who chomped a chump.
reply
He struck a lot of people. Most notably, Robin Givens.
reply
Mike Tyson is kind of a Chindogu to a fight promoter. He is used to make you a lot of money, but he might make you look like a total a** too.
reply
actually, he chomped a champ when he bit the Real Deal Evander Holyfield!

I am no Che Guevara scholar, though I know possibly more about the man and his writings than many who canonize or vilify the man.
I simply think with everything that "awesome" means and encompasses, Che was truly awesome.
Not everything that was awesome needs to be terribly admirable. Tidal Waves that wipe out continents inspire awe. As a man, a thinker, and a revolutionary, I am in awe of Che

So the Stig is Michael Schumacher? Not sure what impact that has on his awesomeness...
reply
The Stig is touring car driver Ben Collins... allegedly. He does speak with an English accent. I'va also heard the theory that The Stig is Damon Hill, But he set a faster time in the Suzuki than Damon Hill did.
reply
Then again the whole point of The Stig is that no one really does know who The Stig is. That's why Borat and Daft Punk aren't nearly as awesome because we know who they really are.
reply
I am The Stig...prove me wrong
reply
Easy. I am The Stig.
reply
I am The Stig. My T-shirt says so. BAM!

I got a Top Gear Father's Day cake with the Stig on it today!
Now, how many of his competitors are awesome enough to feature on Father's Day cakes? Che Guevara, Johnny Cash, the US National Library or whatever it's called? No. reply
My friend got a Father's Day cake with Che Guevera's face on it...

Remember 9/11 and don't vote for this dirty terrorist - don't stab servicemen in the back while spitting in our faces!
reply
...or honor and respect servicemen in a way that actually MEANS something and vote for whatever the heck you want to on this site
reply
Yeah, seriously dude. What the hell does 9/11 have to do with Che Guevara??? Che Guevara lived and died to fight the kind of tyranny that people like Saddam Hussein stood for. You don't have to like him, but it would be well, awesome, if you found an argument against him that didn't involved unrelated incidents that happened in a different country 34 years after his death.
reply
Well, I can see where Yorky is coming from, unfortanetely I think he is a tad bit misguided. Che Guevara was a murderer plain and simple, he was known as the "Butcher" in Cuba for a reason. He ran the military tribunals at La Cabana where he had many people murdered and executed, look to the memoirs Javier Arzuaga, he talks about comforting those sentanced to die (he was a catholic priest at the prison) many of the people were executed on the bases that Che found them suspicious. Also read in the Sierra Maestra about Che's own acount of shooting a peasant, simply named Aristidio, because he wanted to go back to his village and be with his family. He loved conflict, not justice and peace. Yes, he did fight tyranny, but replaced it with his own. which I don't consider a positive thing.
reply
Also, being able to simultaneously stab someone in the back and spit in their face? I hate to say it, but that's borderline awesome right there.
reply
Hahahaha, that statement just made my entire day.
reply
just takes a strong headwind..
reply
Don't worry Yorky, the tentacled octopus of international communism has sung its swansong.
reply
Yes, Minister is the greatest TV series ever, and I particularly loved Bernard's pedantry.
Sorry for missing the reference. reply
Yeah, Che was a left wing communist pinko, not a right wing, fascist, fundamentalist terrorist.... Get your "ists" in order, man.
reply
Che was a revolutionary and a hero for alot of people including myself. The term terrorist is being thrown around far to casually these days imho. It is blind "patriotism" like this comment that is causing the low opinion of The United States on an global scale.
reply
You should put up more info about this guy for lazy people like me who don't feel like looking him up

Hey, Ivan! it was actually a Jaguar that The Stig drove off an aircraft carrier. Just for the sake of accuracy.
