Hard times have hit the snowman community. Global warming seems to be threatening these winter loving creatures. Snowmen around the world are reacting to their impending demise, most are resorting to peaceful demonstrations. But, some are building armies while others have let the stress get to them and have been known to attack. Toddlers have even been captured. BEWARE of the aggressive snowman!

3rd Place February 09 The Aurora Borealis is an astronomical phenomena in which energetic particles light up the upper atmosphere with a luminous glow. It is understandable that tribes of the past tried to make sense of this eerie, awe inspiring affect! Over the years the explanations of teh Northern Lights have varied greatly:

Look, I didn't want to have to break this to anyone, but the Aurora Borealis is fake.
It was invented by the Canadian Governor General in 1890 as a way to promote tourism, and is created by spraying our clouds with kool-aid. Simple, really, but the hoax has taken on a life of its own.
The excess kool-aid is messy and kind of gross. It's wasteful, phony, and not that awesome.

Actually, am I the only one who thinks that story makes it MORE Awesome?

Science is so kool!
