       MAJOR LEAGUE GAMING
February 2009 Champion MLG was started in 2002 by Mike Sepso and Sundance DiGiovanni and took on a lofty goal: to form a league, and enough buzz to actually turn video game addicts into professional athletes. Fast forward 7 years and its clearly mission accomplished. They have a television show on ESPN, prizes as large as $100K, tournaments all over the country, and have enabled hundreds of gamers to go professional. In 2008 they signed a deal with Dr. Pepper to put pictures of professional Halo players on 175 million bottles. Think about that for a second, that's not Michael Jordan on a soda bottle, its Tsquared, a guy who plays Halo for a living. Did anyone notice? PRESIDENT OBAMA WAS PHOTOGRAPHED WITH AN MLG BOTTLE ON INAGURATION DAY. Vote for MLG because you know you had promise when you were 16, your parents didn't see it, but you damn well knew you were the greatest Double Dragon player on the planet. There just wasn't a future in doing that for a living... back then.

Honestly, I don't really remember all the details. But I was actively watching sesame street every day when Snuffleupagus had his debut. There was some big mystery, he was hiding, nobody believed he was real except Big Bird.. something like that. I really don't know the story, but I clearly recall being really really stoked about Snuffleupagus. He was like the loch ness monster of mid morning pre-school television... and totally awesome. I remember thinking that if I met snuffleupagus, he might bite my head—but that might be ok, because he doesn't have teeth, and would probably just kind of gnaw on my head with his gums.
