       MAJOR LEAGUE GAMING
February 2009 Champion MLG was started in 2002 by Mike Sepso and Sundance DiGiovanni and took on a lofty goal: to form a league, and enough buzz to actually turn video game addicts into professional athletes. Fast forward 7 years and its clearly mission accomplished. They have a television show on ESPN, prizes as large as $100K, tournaments all over the country, and have enabled hundreds of gamers to go professional. In 2008 they signed a deal with Dr. Pepper to put pictures of professional Halo players on 175 million bottles. Think about that for a second, that's not Michael Jordan on a soda bottle, its Tsquared, a guy who plays Halo for a living. Did anyone notice? PRESIDENT OBAMA WAS PHOTOGRAPHED WITH AN MLG BOTTLE ON INAGURATION DAY. Vote for MLG because you know you had promise when you were 16, your parents didn't see it, but you damn well knew you were the greatest Double Dragon player on the planet. There just wasn't a future in doing that for a living... back then.

Look, I didn't want to have to break this to anyone, but the Aurora Borealis is fake.
It was invented by the Canadian Governor General in 1890 as a way to promote tourism, and is created by spraying our clouds with kool-aid. Simple, really, but the hoax has taken on a life of its own.
The excess kool-aid is messy and kind of gross. It's wasteful, phony, and not that awesome.

yeah... i agree. from the perspective of the person participating, i'm sure it must be awesome for them to be able to play video games on such a large scale. but the amount of time you have to spend in front of a tv playing those games in order to win the thing, that's just, depressing. From an outsiders perspective it's totally not aweso....... is that guys profile picture anime characters having sex? seriously?

I really don't agree at all. How many hours a day do professional football players spend in a gym, or on a field playing pass? Or boxers, pounding away at a heavy bag, or getting their brains beaten in by sparring partners? America is now fascinated by 'ultimate fighting', which features one guy sitting on top of another guy bashing the back of his skull with an elbow. And these people make millions of dollars and attract the adoration of millions of fans. All of these competitors spend years of their lives in pursuit of becoming the best of the best, but MLG is carving a way for a different sort of competitive person who isn't competing at something that will leave them toothless, brain damaged or dead at 45 due to heart attack. If they can find a way to make celebrate these talented people and make it compelling for fans to watch... I say that is totally awesome.

I have looked at the original uploaded picture and determined that it violates no rules. The image is clean. Its really clean actually, and even the partially naked woman in the picture is asking to be even cleaner. I think it must be some form of public service announcement about showering. :)

As a spectator, I have personally seen an MLG Tournament and the Aurora Borealis make the entire night sky ignite and dance. I love MLG for sure, but AB might be just a little bit more awe-inspiring. Maybe I didn't pound enough red bull?
