I suppose Kirk has finally got to believe in the no-win scenario. Damn it Jim!

Wow, looks like the CaptainOff has brought out the Kirk hate...
I think that fact that Kirk's been a nominee for 3 consecutive contests, spanning more than 3 months, means many are getting weary of JTK.
agreed, I love Kirk, but I'm ready to move on. Too many times a bride's maid. I think Picard appears to be the new Kirk. ;-)

I endorse James T. Kirk as the greatest nominee ever to grace Awesomeoff.
James T. Kirk is the patron saint of Awesome.
I'm going to second that. Perhaps, Jim should be the Awesome poster child.
I like the patron saint idea. I need a little plastic dashboard Kirk for my car. Or perhaps a medallion for my neck.
I think our captain rank, when we get there should definitely be 'Kirk'
Without question.
The generation that is spoiled by multi-million dollar special effect movies, like myself, does not seem to find Kirk who flew around in a carboard ship in front of a piece of paper to be so awesome
Well, I am from the generation that is spoiled by those special effect movies, and let me tell you, Kirk makes that cardboard ship in front of paper look a million times better than all those special effects. Kirk has what most movies are lacking: Awesome!
Well said. Look, there's even a poster: http://echosphere.net/star_trek_insp/insp_captkirk.jpg
wurd danczykial.
He is The Kirk. The Creator.

new star trek movie is soo great! jj abrams did a great job.. didnt expect anything else from the co creator of Lost
Yeah, I saw both Trek and Wolverine... Star Trek was waaayyy better. My teenage kids loved it too, and they've never even seen an episode of Star Trek
As a huge Star Trek geek and purist, and a hater of JJ Abrams, I fully expected to hate it... Somehow, I loved it!
Yeah, that movie was saucy.
do you mind if i ask why you hate JJ Abrams?
Lost is the most ridiculous show on TV, Cloverfield was an over-hyped waste of time and money, and I don't find the viral websites and videos cute whatsoever. I think he's the most over-hyped creative mind in Hollywood, and I was truly terrified he would single-handedly destroy the Star Trek franchise. Traditionally, Star Trek hasn't been about hype and flash, which is what the new film seems to be mostly about, but it's well put together, well written, well acted, and it has very few downsides. (most notably, Eric Bana's portrayal of the villain, Nero.... wretched.)
All in all, I was very pleased with Star Trek, despite my own fearful misgivings.
So i guess your not much of a Lost Fan? i Never Saw Cloverfield, but Lost is an absolutely Amazing show
My biggest beef with Lost is that they never answer any questions. they set up all these crazy mysteries, and never solve any of them. I watched two seasons of Lost and gave up. you gotta tie some things up every once in a while.
But I think we can all agree that Lost has given us one thing that's truly Awesome: Evangeline Lilly. My gods she's ridiculously hot.
lol agreed... The 2nd season did drag and thats when alot of people stopped watching. But Lost has a awesome community and a bunch of different great podcasts. You should try and give it a 2nd chance
You stopped too soon!
You can tell they were very respectful of the Star Trek mythos. The trouble with prequels is how to make it exciting when we know the history already; it's very clever that they changed the timeline so that now we no longer can be sure what will happen next- but it's still close enough that they haven't lost any of the important history that would anger the fans. Well done.
...And, by changing the time-line, they took away our right to bitch about not being true to the existing story lines.
Ahh! Touche, komrade! I just still can't believe that was Eric Bana as Nero!
